Malmö makerspace

Developing a visual identity for Malmö's makerspace

Year: 2014

Malmö Makerspace is an open workshop and community for creative people. It is a part of a creative hub called STPLN, situated in Malmö, Sweden. It is a place where designers, architects, artists, and anyone who likes to be creative come together to work on creations, discuss and exchange knowledge. For over 2 years, I volunteered at Malmö Makerspace, instructing and helping people with projects regarding 3D modelling and printing, and laser cutting.

The makerspace needed a visual identity to help promote the place and increase exposure. Together with studio the Birdfactory a logo was developed that represents the characteristics and disciplines of the space.

Two versions of the symbol were designed, one for use in digital environments (1) and one for in print (2)
